Implant Dentures

Implant dentures are a modern alternative to conventional dentures and can provide a number of significant advantages for those who choose to wear them. After implants are placed in the jawbone they provide a solid foundation for the dentures. There are two categories of implant dentures: Fixed or Removable. Fixed implant dentures are also known as All-on-4, All-on-X or Screw-Retained Dentures. They are only removed by the denturist. Removable implant dentures can snap-on and off and use locator or other such attachments to hold them on the implants. Either option will provide substantial improvements for patients who wear dentures.

Immediate vs Conventional Dentures

Complete dentures are available in two forms: Immediate or Conventional. Although they are basically the same type of denture they are used at different times during your denture journey. Immediate complete dentures are your first set of dentures which are crafted prior to teeth being extracted. Conventional complete dentures are crafted by the denturist months or years after your teeth have been extracted. You only receive immediate complete dentures once and every time you need to have dentures replaced in the future you will receive conventional complete dentures. Complete dentures are normally replace every 5-7 years.
